The Cistermiser IRC2 controls the water supply to a urinal cistern with a motion-sensing infrared sensor. When movement is detected, the latching brass-bodied solenoid valve opens and the cistern fills and flushes; when the room is empty no water is used, apart from an automatic 30-minute hygiene opening after 12 hours without use. A Normal mode limits flushing to twice an hour and an Economy mode adds a 15-minute delay. The sensor (85 × 85 × 68 mm) covers 125° and about 9.2 m at floor level.
The valve is fitted on the 1/2″ (15 mm) supply pipe to the cistern and works from 0.1 to 6 bar; above 6 bar a pressure-reducing valve is required. It runs on four AA alkaline batteries (around 3 years) and/or 230 V mains via the integral transformer, with batteries usable as back-up. The sensor can be mounted on the valve, on a wall, or recessed into a ceiling with the bracket supplied. It is intended for commercial washrooms and helps meet the UK Water Regulations for urinal controls.
The figures on this page are taken from the manufacturer’s own documentation and product data; if anything differs, the manufacturer’s documentation prevails. The manufacturer gives a 1-year parts guarantee from date of manufacture (3 years when registered after commissioning), which applies in addition to your statutory consumer rights.
