The NABIC Fig 542 is a general-purpose spring-loaded safety relief valve designed mainly to protect hot-water boilers, and also used on steam, compressed air and other inert gases. The body and spring cover are bronze (gunmetal) and all wetted parts are dezincification-resistant; a resilient PTFE seat gives tight shut-off and a test lever lets you check the valve. Each valve is set to the required pressure, tested and sealed before dispatch, with a pressure test certificate.
This 1″ (DN25) size has Rp (BSP parallel) female threads on both inlet and outlet, a set-pressure range of 1.0 to 10.5 barg and a temperature range of -20 to 195 °C; it is 132 mm high (C max) and weighs 0.80 kg. Size the valve to the discharge capacity of the boiler or system it protects using the manufacturer’s capacity tables and the relevant standard, and pipe the discharge to a safe place.
