The Quartz Classic Smart exposed kit is a digital shower: the hot and cold water are mixed by Aqualisa’s SmartValve, a box that is installed out of sight in the loft, airing cupboard or under the bath, while the shower area only shows a slim rail with the round Quartz push-button controller and a 105 mm handset with four spray patterns including an eco setting. One touch starts and stops the shower, the LED ring shows when the chosen temperature is reached and a boost button increases flow. The valve connects to home Wi-Fi so the shower can be started, timed and monitored from the Aqualisa app or by voice through Alexa or Google.
This QZD.A1.EV.23 version is for high-pressure systems — combi boiler, unvented cylinder or boosted gravity — working between 1 and 5 bar (7 bar peak); for a gravity tank and cylinder choose the pumped QZD.A2.EV.23 instead. The SmartValve has 15 mm push-fit inlets (hot right, cold left, 48 mm centres) and a 15 mm push-fit outlet; a data cable runs from the valve to the controller, and the valve needs a mains electrical connection made by a qualified electrician. The rail is up to about 1030 mm tall with the head up to 320 mm from the wall.

Aqualisa guarantees the shower unit for 5 years and the head and kit for 2 years, in addition to the statutory guarantee.
