The 1901 exposed valve is Bristan’s traditional thermostatic mixer in chrome-plated brass. Temperature and flow are set separately through a concentric control – a white-lever handle with a crosshead above it – and the thermostatic cartridge keeps the chosen temperature steady, shutting off if either supply fails. Two 8 l/min flow regulators are fitted at the factory and the temperature is limited to 42 °C, with an override for a warmer shower.
This is the valve only: add a 1901 rigid riser, slide rail or fixed head with a G 1/2″ connection. The swivel inlet elbows take 15 mm compression supplies and adjust between 136 and 158 mm centres, so the valve usually fits existing pipework without changes. It works on gravity, pumped, combi and unvented systems (ideally balanced) between 0.2 and 5 bar dynamic pressure, with hot water up to 65 °C. The body projects about 128 mm from the wall.
If any figure on this page differs from the manufacturer’s documentation, the manufacturer’s documentation prevails. Bristan quotes a lifetime parts and one-year labour guarantee for purchases from 1 April 2026, in addition to the statutory rights of the buyer.
