The Philips AUT8940 is a very slim under-sink reverse osmosis purifier designed to save space: it can stand vertically or lie flat, even in the plinth below kitchen units. A 4-in-1 compound pre-filter and an Aquaporin-based RO cartridge with 0.0001 µm filtration reduce chlorine, hardness, heavy metals, pesticides and microorganisms, and a pump delivers about 1.05 litres of RO water per minute without a tank.
The inlet pressure must be 0.1–0.4 MPa (1–4 bar): a pressure relief valve is supplied for higher pressures, and a booster is needed below 1 bar. Feed water should be municipal water at 5–38 °C. It needs a 220–240 V socket (72 W) and a hole for the supplied faucet; a three-way ball valve, 3/8″ and 1/4″ tubing and a drain connector are included. The compound filter lasts up to 12 months and the RO cartridge up to 36 months.
