The Calmag CalSoft Mini is a compact cabinet softener built in the UK by Calmag (part of Monarch Water). Its electronic controller counts water through a meter built into the quick-connect bypass and regenerates only when the resin is exhausted: about 2 kg of tablet salt and 85 litres of water per cycle, giving roughly 2000 litres of soft water per regeneration at 300 ppm. The salt tank holds 15 kg and a hardness test kit is included.
This bundle includes the 22 mm stainless-steel Hi-Flow hoses and valves (HFK-22), recommended for combi boilers, unvented cylinders and other mains-pressure systems; with the 15 mm kit the flow is 50 l/min. Inlet pressure must be at least 1.5 bar and no more than 5 bar (fit a PRV above that), water must not exceed 43 °C, and a UK mains socket and drain are needed. A separate unsoftened drinking-water tap is required under UK regulations.
