The SP2B is the automatic model of the Shower Power Booster in-line micro pump, made in the UK by Flowflex. A brass body carries a brushless 12 V centrifugal pump with an inlet filter; it is light enough to hang unsupported on the pipe and detects flow from about 1.5 l/min, then switches itself on. It does not restrict the original flow when off, and it cuts out at high flow or in a power cut.
Fit one on the hot feed to a single shower (the cold usually follows), on the main feed to lift every outlet, or add a second pump for hot and cold. Installation is cutting out 110 mm of 22 mm pipe (15 mm reducers supplied) and plugging the transformer into a socket; the 12 V cable keeps mains voltage out of the bathroom. It needs at least 1.5 l/min of existing flow and gives up to 6 m head — it improves weak showers, it is not a replacement for a 2–3 bar power-shower pump.
Technical data come from the Flowflex / Shower Power Booster information manual, which prevails. The manufacturer guarantee is 2 years (extendable to 3 with the SPB care pack) in addition to the statutory guarantee.
