The UPS3 15-50/65 is a wet-rotor circulator with a permanent-magnet motor and built-in electronics for domestic heating systems. It has a cast-iron housing with a composite impeller, 130 mm port-to-port length and G 1½ connections, so it drops into the space of most older UK 15-50 and 15-60 pumps. A single button selects proportional-pressure, constant-pressure or constant-curve settings, with an automatic mode that adapts to the system.
It suits heating circuits in houses with combination, system or regular boilers. Check the existing pump’s length (130 mm) and terminal box position, that the isolating pump valves are serviceable, and that the system water is clean and inhibited; the UPS3 handles water and glycol mixtures up to 50 % at 2–95 °C and system pressures up to 10 bar. Electrical connection is by a plug-in connector on a 230 V fused supply, and in the UK replacement work on the heating system should follow the boiler manufacturer’s and Part L guidance.
Specifications are from the Grundfos product centre and installation manual, which prevail. A 5-year manufacturer guarantee is stated, in addition to the statutory guarantee.
