The Hyco Rho IN44T is a small instantaneous electric water heater that fits inline under a wash basin and heats water only while the tap is open, so there is no standing heat loss. The thermostatic model holds the user-selected temperature between 30 and 48 °C as pressure varies and shows it on a digital display; an overheat cut-out trips at 80 °C. The white unit measures 140 x 190 x 80 mm and weighs 1.6 kg empty.
At 4.4 kW it is meant for hand washing at one basin, at about 2.5 l/min with the supplied tap spray nozzle fitted (M22/M24 tap aerator); delivered temperature drops in winter when the incoming water is colder. It needs a mains supply between 1 and 7.5 bar with at least 2.5 l/min flow, connects through two 1/2″ BSP male fittings 40 mm apart (15 mm compression to 1/2″ BSP female adapters are not supplied), and can take pre-heated water up to 48 °C, for example from solar. Electrically it is single phase, rated 19 A, wired to the fixed wiring via a double-pole isolator with 3 mm contact gap, and installed in a frost-free place.
