The Teka EWH 80 D Slim is a slim electric storage water heater built around two sapphire-enamelled steel tanks, which keeps the body only 300 mm deep while storing 74 litres. A ceramic element of 2,000 W can also run at 1,200 or 800 W, selected on the Smart Control card with digital display, and the thermostat covers 30 to 75 °C. The unit measures 900 x 570 x 300 mm, has an 18 mm insulation layer, a magnesium anode, IPX4 protection and dry-heating and overheat cut-outs.
Teka sizes it for two to four people (load profile M, about 1,720 kWh a year). It can be hung vertically or horizontally, which helps in kitchen units and lofts, but the wall must carry over 100 kg when full. The water pipes are G1/2 and the maximum inlet pressure is 0.75 MPa (7.5 bar): fit the supplied one-way safety valve on the cold inlet and a pressure reducer if the mains is higher. It needs a 230 V socket rated 10 A with earth, placed at least 1.8 m above the floor according to the manual; in hard-water areas (above 120 mg/l CaCO3) a softener is recommended.
